PremiumAbreu, Miranda and VdA advise LNG project in Mozambique

The trio of offices was involved in the financing process for the liquefied natural gas project, with firms from their networks in Africa.

It is the largest global Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) project in Mozambique, it is valued at US $ 20 billion (approximately EUR 17 billion) and legal advice was provided by national and international offices. The financing and development operations of the “Mozambique LNG Project” had the legal support of Abreu Advogados, Miranda & Associados (Miranda Alliance) and Vieira de Almeida (VdA).

The three companies advised senior creditors [export credit agencies and the African Development Bank (AfDB)] and French oil company Total, respectively. Legal work in the region known as “Area 1”, also had the participation of JLA Advogados in Mozambique and the North American ones, Latham & Watkins and White & Case, who acted as counsels.
