CERTIF, a national platform specialized in certification processes, had a 20% reduction in the first half of this year, compared to the same period in 2019, without revealing the absolute values.

New customers compensated for the number of cancellations ”, highlights a statement from CERTIF, underlining“ the certification of new ranges of construction products, in customers who have extended their offer with new references ”.
According to the aforementioned statement, “CERTIF, leader in Portugal in product certification, with a share of more than 90%, recorded a 20% reduction in its turnover in the first half compared to the same period of the previous year”.
“Even so, it managed to carry out 40% of the annual follow-up actions, which allows it to maintain the hope of concluding the year with a positive performance, although below initial expectations”, highlight the company's officials.
For CERTIF's management, "the new customers offset the number of cancellations, although it is admitted that it is in the second half of the year that the negative impact of the pandemic on the economy will be reflected in the number of cancellations".
“The year 2020 had a very promising start, with new projects in preparation and new customers, with a significant fact that the turnover in the first quarter was higher than in the previous year, even with a reduction in activity as of March. Since CERTIF's activity is linked to that of its customers, the impossibility of carrying out actions on the ground came to affect the execution of the semester ”, explains the statement in question.
The same document points out that, “opting for remote audits not to be carried out, except in some situations identified as the only possible solution, priority was given to monitoring the processes, preparing the return to face-to-face actions as soon as possible”.
"Despite the difficulties with making trips starting in March, direct billing abroad in the first half was 48,5% of the total amount", the statement said.
New construction product ranges were certified by customers who expanded their offer with new references. In the electricity sector, demand for CB certificates for export continued, with CERTIF carrying out inspections to monitor the production of products for export to South America.
Service certification, systems certification, and people certification were CERTIF's areas of expertise in the first half of this year.
