The director-general of Health, Graça Freitas, revealed this Wednesday, October 21, that there are 49 active outbreaks in schools, daycare centers and in higher education establishments.
At the usual press conference on the balance of the pandemic, Graça Freitas also maintained that 449 cases were reported as of yesterday, and that “not all Erasmus students are still on the list.
In a previous balance sheet, at the beginning of the month, the director-general of Health counted 23 active outbreaks with 136 positive cases, an increase of 230% in less than a month. Still, Graça Freitas points out that “the beginning of the school year has a very positive balance”
This Tuesday, Fenprof released the list of 332 public and private establishments where covid-19 cases exist or have existed. Teachers' union structure says that Covid-19 cases almost tripled in just over a week. And it threatens to go to court to have access to the updated list of Covid-19 situations in schools, indicating the number of people infected and procedures adopted, as it has not received a response from the Ministry of Education.
