Four consulting challenges

In this Special we address several challenges that consultants face. We highlight four: Customers, People, Innovation and Regulation.

In this Special we address several challenges that consultants face. We highlight four: Customers, People, Innovation and Regulation. And in each of these themes, we seek to answer a set of questions, with the help of industry leaders, experts and entrepreneurs:

Customers: Do customers today place more importance on price and are they more demanding on time? What are the major market trends? What is the impact of the pandemic?

People: the new generations are looking for a better balance between professional and personal life. What are the different firms doing to attract and retain talent? And to what extent do themes such as gender equality and inclusive human resources policies take into account?

Innovation: new technologies are essential to dematerialize and simplify processes, but are Portuguese consultants taking advantage of them? And how can Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning help consultants to better serve their clients and be more efficient?
Regulation: do the growing demands on regulation and compliance make sense? And what implications will the creation of multidisciplinary societies have?

That said, what will be the most important challenge? I would say it's the People. Attracting the best is crucial to building customer relationships, taking advantage of technology or navigating the labyrinths of regulation. It is not just a sentence made; People continue to be, in fact, the main asset of any organization.
