The Government has proposed to the Bloco de Esquerda (BE) an extension of access to the new social service and a timetable for hiring more than 4.200 health professionals, the executive's source told Lusa today.

These two proposals were presented by the Government to the BE in a meeting that ended today at dawn, around 2:30 am, and which was intended to seek an agreement for the viability of the State Budget proposal for 2021, whose vote is generally scheduled for the next 28th, in the Assembly of the Republic.

“At the working meeting with the Bloco de Esquerda, the Government put forward the proposal to ensure that whoever loses unemployment benefits has access to the new social benefit regardless of the condition of resources. The Government also presented a timetable for hiring more than 4200 health professionals, ”a source from the socialist executive told the Lusa agency.

With these two proposals, the Government intended to respond to two of the demands made by the Left Block to make the Budget proposal viable.
