Madeira: Civil Protection acquires equipment to transport patients with infectious disease

The Civil Protection of Madeira now has two capsules BIO-BAG EBV - 30 / 40IN-CH, a mobile device that allows the “safe transportation of infected or suspected infected patients, in two ways, positive or negative pressure. On the one hand it allows the transport of contaminated patients to a place where it is possible to treat them safely, and on the other hand it allows the transport of immune-compromised patients, in order to protect them from the outside environment ”.

The Civil Protection of Madeira acquired two pieces of equipment, BIO-BAG EBV - 30 / 40IN-CH capsule, for transporting patients with infectious disease, with positive or negative pressure modes available. The acquisition of this equipment was intended to provide the region with “highly differentiated” equipment.

The regional secretary for health, Pedro Ramos, said that this “innovative acquisition” of Civil Protection is part of an investment policy, carried out by the Madeiran executive, which has already reached 22 million euros in five years.

“The BIO-BAG EBV Capsule - 30 / 40IN-CH is a mobile device that allows the safe transport of infected or suspected infected patients, in two ways, positive or negative pressure. On the one hand it allows the transport of contaminated patients, to a place where it is possible to treat them safely, and on the other hand it allows the transport of immune-compromised patients, in order to protect them from the outside environment ”, he says.

This equipment has “three pairs of integrated gloves, connected to the chamber through special rings. The gloves are highly flexible, allowing contact with the patient effectively, but safely ”.
