In the last month, national cinemas received about 78 thousand spectators, which represents a 95,6% drop compared to the audience of Portuguese cinemas in the same period in 2019, according to data now released by the Instituto do Cinema e do Audiovisual (ICA ), which also accounts for a decline of 96,1% in terms of box office revenues, with the value reached in July at 382,4 thousand euros.

Analyzing the results accumulated for the year, between January and July the total revenue was 14,2 million euros, already representing a drop in the order of 68,8% compared to the first seven months of 2019. The total number of spectators until at the end of July this year it stood at 2,6 million, which corresponds to a reduction of 69,2% compared to the same period in the previous year.
