Public prosecutor opens investigation into outbreak in home in Reguengos de Monsaraz

The Public Ministry (MP) launched an investigation into the outbreak of covid-19 in a home in Reguengos de Monsaraz, in the district of Évora, which has already caused 18 deaths, the Attorney General's Office (PGR) told Lusa today.

Questioned by the Lusa agency, the PGR confirmed the existence of an investigation into the covid-19 outbreak that arose in the home of the Maria Inácia Vogado Perdigão Silva Foundation (FMIVPS), which runs under the Department of Investigation and Penal Action (DIAP) of Évora.

The outbreak at home caused, until Thursday, a total of 162 cases of infection, including 18 dead: 16 users, a household worker and a man from the community.

At home, 80 users and 26 professionals were contaminated, but the disease spread to the community and infected 56 other people.
