Marco Silva
Appointed by the national press as one of the most likely successors to Bruno Lage, the Portuguese coach was replaced at the helm of Everton by Carlo Ancelotti, and will now be able to return to Portugal where he last coached Sporting.
Jorge Jesus
The Portuguese coach, with a spell at Benfica between 2009 and 2015, is one of the most desirable by the president of the red, Luís Filipe Vieira. After renewing earlier this month, it is highly unlikely that Jesus will end with Flamengo. Even so, this possibility cannot be excluded.
Leonardo Jardim
With several races in Monaco and Olympiacos, he could be one of the chosen ones to take on the Benfica project. Known for valuing young people and with several titles in his curriculum, he may be Bruno Lage's successor.
Pedro Caixinha
With visits to Nacional da Madeira and União de Leiria, Pedro Caixinha built his name outside Portugal where he has gained some notoriety. The position of coach of Benfica will be very desirable if the reds decide to hire the Portuguese.
Unay Emery
Fired by Arsenal earlier this year, he is one of the most successful coaches at European level. With spells at Sevilha FC (where he won three Europa League trophies), PSG (all domestic trophies) and Arsenal, he could be one of the candidates to head SL Benfica. High wages could be one of the obstacles.
Niko Kovac
German Niko Kovac is known for launching young people. had an excellent campaign at Eintracht Frankfurt, but was not successful at Bayern Munich. It may be the big surprise to train the red.
Say Gracia
The Spaniard is currently unemployed, and could be one of the chances on the table. With spells with several Spanish clubs, and with Watford in the Premier League, Javi Garcia will be able to continue the history of Spanish coaches who have been in the club of light.
Jurgen Klinsmann
After a less successful spell at Berlin's Hertha, Klinsmann presents himself as an experienced coach with the ability to launch youngsters in the main team.
