It is a digital platform and allows consultation of video classes, case studies and seminars so that students and lawyers can keep up to date with changes in this field. It will be online in the first quarter of 2021 and will have a monthly subscription.
It was created by three students from the Catholic University in Porto: Luciano Rezende, from the Porto School of the Faculty of Law, Henrique Varino da Silva, a finalist in the Law degree, responsible for ensuring the quality of the content, and Ana Campos, a student at the Faculty of Law. Education and Psychology, which will be in charge of certifying the didactic quality of teaching.
“Our platform will be built as a kind of“ Netflix ”of Law, where we will segment the topics of study by the major branches - Private Law, Civil Law, Real Rights - in order to offer a comprehensive content grid that can be useful to all law students in Portugal, regardless of the Faculty they attend ”, explains Luciano Rezende.
The platform was designed to respond to the requirements created by the pandemic, in which the study started to be done at a distance, the platform comes to create a study support in the legal area by providing content from several curricular units of the degree.
“One of the great purposes and differentiating factors of this entrepreneurial project is to put students in the role of teachers”, explain the promoters, adding that some of the best Masters students of Católica in Porto will be responsible for the creation of video lessons.
Both Luciano Rezende and Henrique Varino da Silva attended the ADN do Jurista program, an initiative aimed at the integral and transversal development of students and which allowed them to develop a set of skills that proved to be essential in this project.
“The Jurist's DNA is the most important program of the Faculty of Law, since it aims not only to form good jurists, but good human beings, who will call themselves the protagonism and the responsibility to face the challenges of their lives, being future transforming agents in society ”, says Luciano Rezende. "This project would not be possible without this program, which played a major role in my intellectual and human education", he adds.
Henrique Varino da Silva also highlights the importance of the Jurist's DNA: “The program's interdisciplinarity helped to raise awareness of the communication dimension”. “In the Jurist's DNA it was clear that it is not enough to just have a great theoretical-legal background if we are not able to adapt the method and the message, depending on the audience to which we aim to transmit our knowledge”, he concludes.
The initiative obtained a classification of 17 values (on a scale of 20) and achieved maximum score in the requirements "degree of innovation of the idea" and "response to market needs" and will be financed by the Startup Voucher.
