Thirteen districts in mainland Portugal are now under yellow warning because of the wind and rain that can sometimes be strong and accompanied by thunder, according to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA).
According to the IPMA, the districts of Aveiro and Viseu are under yellow warning from 06:00 am until 18:00 pm today due to the forecast of sometimes heavy showers.
The districts of Guarda, Castelo Branco, Coimbra, Leiria, Lisbon, Santarém, Setúbal, Beja and Faro are under yellow warning due to rain (until 18:00 today) and sometimes strong wind with gusts up to 75 kilometers per hour, up to 85 kilometers per hour (km / h) in the highlands (until 21:00 today).
The districts of Portalegre and Évora are under yellow warning from 06:00 until 21:00 today because of the strong wind.
The yellow warning is issued by the IPMA whenever there is a risk situation for certain activities depending on the weather situation.
The IPMA forecasts today on the continent very cloudy skies, showers, sometimes strong, accompanied by thunderstorms and strong gusts of wind, especially in the interior regions and the possibility of hail.
A weak to moderate wind is also expected from the south quadrant, blowing at times strong and with gusts up to 75 kilometers per hour) (km / h) in the Center and South regions.
In the highlands, the wind will be strong from the south quadrant, with gusts up to 85 km / h, especially in the Center and South regions.
The forecast also points to the possibility of forming fog or morning fog and lowering the temperature, especially the maximum.
The minimum temperatures will vary between 11 degrees Celsius (in Guarda) and 18 (in Lisbon) and the maximum between 16 degrees (in Guarda) and 27 (in Braga and Porto).
