The law firm Caiado Guerreiro & Associados provided legal advice to the company Baobab Cotton Group, originally from Zimbabwe, in a public tender in Angola that came from the privatization process of the oil company Sonangol.
The Portuguese office was responsible for legal support in the award of two textile units to the Baobab Cotton Group, valued at around US $ 500 million (approximately EUR 420 million).
At stake is a public tender - in which 30 companies were involved - for the privatization of 13 industrial units in the Special Economic Zone (Viana), in which Angola raises about US $ 3,5 billion (close to 2,9 million euros) ), through the award of contracts. The textile industry companies Africa Têxtil (Benguela) and Comandante Bula (Cuanza Norte) stayed with the Baobab Cotton group.
