At the same time, “all establishments of any nature must close at 20 pm on working days and at 13 pm on the weekend, with the exception of the food retail that may last until 17 pm,” according to António Costa.

In his presentation after the Council of Ministers, the Prime Minister signaled that there was a 30% reduction in movements in the past weekend compared to the previous one, but that even so the executive decided to reinforce the confinement measures.

António Costa pointed out that the new measures will be accompanied by an increase in inspection by the security forces, particularly the PSP, which will have “greater visibility of its presence on the public road and in the vicinity of school establishments, in order to be a deterrent and to prevent gatherings that are a threat to public health ”.
