The XNUMX workers at the PSA plant in Mangualde, which belongs to the PSA Group - Peugeot-Citroën-Opel, now have “more opportunities” with the creation of the new industrial giant in which they are integrated - Stellantis -, resulting from the merger with the Italian-American group FCA - Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, holder of the Fiat Profissional brand, very strong in the segment of commercial vehicles manufactured by PSA in Mangualde.
After the CEO of Stellantis, Carlos Tavares, announced last Tuesday, January 19, that the synergies of this merger amount to five billion euros, in which 40% of this value is obtained by product synergies, the president of Mangualde City Council, Elísio Oliveira - former PSA financial director of Mangualde, where he worked for 30 years - commented to Jornal Económico (JE) that “the opportunities now opening up to the Portuguese factory are far greater than the risks inherent in a merger of this type ”.
